Hello everyone,
I am crazy domesticated cat photographer from Serbia

I was born in 1981, in Knjazevac (Serbia). Till the age of nineteen I lived in my hometown of Knjazevac. Afterwards I moved in the city of Nis, where I had attended studies of Architecture at University of Nis.

The photography was introduced to me by my father who is a professional photographer. I found the interest in photography ten years ago, firstly working on editing and manipulation of other people's photos. At that time it was just a hobby. Later I found out that it is better to go outside and make my own photos. I was shooting everything that I came across to, but soon I have realized that I am most attracted by animals, especially domesticated animals.

Today I am specialized in photographing cats in their natural environment and catching their facial expressions. The connection I had made with cats and other animals makes my job easier.
My photos were so far published in several famous magazines and virtual galleries, some of them are used as book and CD covers, some for calendars, mobile applications, wallpapers, posters, products and more...

Excitements and challenges when photographing cats

I find cats very interesting to photograph because they are all unique individuals, they all react differently in similar situation. People usually think that cats are always sleeping, but on contrary they are hyper active, always in the move, doing some crazy stuff all the time, and when you are around them more than usually you can notice it. And if you are caring camera all the time like me you can catch all those funny moments in a photo. I always search for cats and kittens, I know that almost every cat has different personality and I want to take photos of many different cats as I can. I really love cats and love what I do and when you get recognitions for what you are doing it makes me want to be even better.

I am trying to catch cats and kittens in a strangest positions and angles. I find whiskers very interesting for shooting, especially when cat is looking up, funny expression is guaranteed. Sometimes domesticated cats are acting like big cats in a Wild, got the same moves when they are climbing in a tree or hunting something. Also tabby kittens look like cheetahs, especially when they are near their mother, they look like happy wild family.
Cats and kittens have surprisingly a lot facial mimic and expressions just like people and that's I'm trying to catch to make a shot great and different from classic cat photos. Sometimes it is enough to put a 105mm lens and sit closely to a bunch of kittens and wait for some unexpected situations they get into. The interaction between old and young ones is also very interesting; you can see and feel the emotion when they are closing to each other. Kittens usually follow the movements in front of them, so you can snap your fingers to direct their gaze at a picture, so you got a perfect look.

I have 8 big cats and 4 kittens. Oldest one has 5 years. She is European short-hair and she is the only cat that I didn't sterilized, because her tabby kittens are very wanted in my hometown. They are my favorite models for photographing, because through time they learn to pose for camera, to look directly where I point them.
Also I am proud that one of my cats called REX (mix with Russian blue and tabby cat) is the Winner of "GourmetGold" Golden Cat 2011 awards in Serbia.
Fluffy's photos were posted several times in magazines and newspapers.
